7-8:30pm, weekly each Wednesday beginning May 3rd, in the FEELING room. Performing Arts; a class designed to form a troupe of players who will grow together in experience. Students will begin with theater games, creative improv and skits. Our goal will be to create a troupe of adult actors to perform by Christmas! This weekly class is for anyone. No experience is perfect! We will grow together.
Facilitator: Pamela Ward, email@example.com. When I was 10, I saw my very first play. It was Rebecca of Sunnybrooke Farm at my elementary School in Charlotte, NC. I knew at that moment I wanted to be an actor!!! I studied dance, music, voice, and theater. I performed throughout my life in little theaters, churches, on Navy Bases, and anywhere there was a stage. I was also an event planner with two children and enjoyed using my creative side to plan fun events and fundraisers. When my two sons were grown, I returned to college. I studied in England with the College of Charleston and graduated rather late in 2004 in my fifties. In the 1980s I was a Director of Drama at a 5000 member church in Charlotte, and moved to Mt Pleasant in 1989. I have owned Art and Soul for five years and I teach children and adults in various opportunities. I teach the summer months at Trident Technical College for kid’s college and also for the City of Charleston. I teach privately too! In the course of all these years I have created a very unique way to share theater. I believe that participating in theater is a way to encourage self esteem, confidence, creativity, growth, and that in being part of a theater troupe you grow in all areas of your life.
